When Pride in Law launched in 2017, we had a dream in establishing an award to recognise the many advocates for LGBTIQA+ inclusion in the legal profession.
On 13 November 2020, at the Banco Court of Queensland, at our 4th Annual Address we announced the inaugural Pride in Law Award Recipient.
Congratulations to Stephen Page!
For those unaware, Stephen Page is the director of Page Provan Family and Fertility Lawyers. Stephen is international regarded as one of the leading surrogacy lawyers in Australia and one of Brisbane’s most respected LGBTIQA+ friendly lawyers.
Stephen has written and presented at conferences around the world. Stephen’s first surrogacy case was in 1988. Since then he has appeared in courts in Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria and South Australia on surrogacy matters- the only lawyer to have done so. Stephen has been a Queensland Law Society accredited family law specialist since 1996.
Stephen celebrates this personal achievement with his husband Mitchell Page and their new daughter, Elizabeth.
Stephen Page was nominated by Kay Feeney and supported by Bridget Cullen.
Congratulations on being the first recipient of the Pride in Law Award.
